You can fish in the two ponds. One is stocked with catfish that we have fed for several years and now weighs 5-7 pounds each. The grandchildren have a blast at this one. Another pond has an island for the geese and ducks and was stocked last year with bass, perch and flathead minnows. Approximately 15 of the 40 acres have 27 year old pine trees, a small amount of hard woods and open meadows make up the rest of the acreage.

The amount of wildlife that visits makes this home truly unique. We see a variety of birds including an occasional visit from the shy pileated woodpecker. Turkeys, Canadian geese and various ducks are regular visitors. Squirrels are at the feeders every morning along with the birds. We also see a grey fox and racoons on occasion. We have been feeding deer for almost 20 years and on an average day we see over 20 deer although at times that increases to 30 to 35 at the troughs in one day. Recently we had 13 bucks eating together, one 11 point, one 9 point, 4 eight points, and the rest were 6 point or less. This property is truly a haven for wildlife.

This home is located just 5 miles from Antlers the "Deer Captial of the World" in Southeastern Oklahoma which is known as a sportsmans paradise. It is in easy driving distance of numerous lakes including Hugo, Sardis, Pat Mayes, Pine Creek, McGee Creek, and Broken Bow. You can be in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Dallas TX or Hot Springs Ar in 2 1/2 hours or less.
