Gearhart Historic Home: James Beard's Childhood cabin

This historic home was once inhabited by James Beard, famous Oregon culinary and author of many books. The cabin is mentioned in several of his writings about living and cooking at the beach in the early 1900's. This charming cabin is located 1 block from the beach on a large 10,000 square foot lot in the historic "meadows" area of Gearhart. It has been restored to original character since purchased in late 2002. We have installed new septic, roof, siding, plumbing, electric, insulation. We have installed a new wood burning stove and restored the original clawfoot tub. The cabin has 9 ft high ceilings, giving a "larger feel", with original bead-board interior construction. Beatutiful landscaping, garden/tool shed, and playhouse for kids. Fire-pit in backyard makes for perfect summer nights with family and friends.  The home has rental income potential.
