In the 1970's a loop road in the forest was under construction and terminated about 2 miles past the entrance of this property. The Forest
Service had planned on extending it to the opposite side of the forest onto property. The private property owners sued to stop it and won.
Thus, there is a well maintained road within 100ft. from the Yankee Jack/Wicked Slope entrance gate and ends about two miles from the entrance.
It is 1/3mi. from the entrance gate to the cabin sights and is easily accessed by car or truck.
In 1979 another couple and ourselves purchased the claims and divided the property equally. We took the E. Side and they took the W. Side of each claims. Both properties are well maintained with separate utilities. The water well is excellent quality and quantity. It is 150ft. deep with an electric submersible pump. The electric generator is an Onan 4.5KW with stop/start switches in the cabin, bunk house and garage work shop. There are two septic systems, one for the cabin and one for the bunk house.
The cabin is all log. The logs in the kitchen(smaller part) are hand hued and was built in 1936. The living room and bedrooms were added in 1983. The logs were cut from this property to build this adition.
We have enjoyed the whole area for 30 years and have decided to sell because of our age. We have snow machined and had 4-wheelers all over these mountains, have loved seeing the elk, moose, deer and antelope the same time respecting the Forest Service requirements. If you like to hunt, fish (creek and lake) this the heart of a Wonderland.
