This mountain home is built of log and timber frame on full block foundation. There is a large wooden deck on all four sides that is fully covered on three sides. The house has hand hewn log walls on the first level, providing a beautiful combined great room, kitchen and dining area with a half bath.   The upper floors are very sturdily constructed with full 6" thick walls throughout.  The home is heated with natural gas radiant heat / circulating hot water heating system with six zones; There is a masonry flue for two wood stoves -- one main floor as well as one below grade; There are 9' ceilings in the first level and 8' ceilings on the second and third level. There is hardwood flooring throughout the main floor and there is carpet and ceramic tile throughout the remainder.  The home has beautiful natural, custom hardwood trim throughout -- see attached photos. 

This lovely home has five bedrooms and 4.5 baths.  The master suite is private, with an office, and large bath with both walk-shower and jetted tub.  The second bedroom has a large private bath as well.  There are three bedrooms on the third floor with additional bedding in overhead lofts.  The third floor suite has three private bedrooms with lofts, opening onto a large sitting room/ common area.  Two of the bedrooms have private baths with showers.   Altogether, this home can easily accomodate a family of 6-8, with full sleeping capacity of 12-14 total.  Lots of room for a big family or lots of guests.

The large, functional kitchen has solid surface counter tops with professional, built-in gas appliances including two Viking commercial ovens and a Viking 6 burner range top with down draft hood.  It has a dishwasher, disposal, refridgerator and microwave.  The kitchen has ceramic tile flooring, custom cabinets and custom lighting.  The kitchen is surrounded on 3 sides by picture windows with views of the surrounding forrest and mountains.   The kitchen is separated from the dining, greatroom area by a lovely wooden bar.  This area is very spacious and can easily accomodate 12-14 diners at a time.

Throughout the home there are custom, built-in hardwood cabinets for closet space / storage area. There is a skylight on the upper level and a built-in hardwood staircase / ladder to the fourth level loft areas.

The basement is partially finished and partitioned and there is plumbing for a full bath. The basement also has an outside entrance, ceramic tile and concrete floors (radiant heat), block walls and exposed beams and joists on the ceiling.

The property is comprised of 6.5 acres of partially cleared land and joins National Forrest land on 3 sides.  The location thus provides great opportunities for hiking, motorsports, horseback riding, fishing, cross county skiiing and hunting. Downhill skiing is 35 miles away in Canaan valley.  This gated property is quiet, secluded and very private.  Water is provided by a good well on the property.  Natural gas comes from a large main next to the property.  Electricity and telephone utilities are underground.  With the addition of a natural gas backup generator, this home could be practically self-sustaining.
