Description:

My plight is your delight!! By this I mean that if I want to be near water, and am therefore moving, and you want to be near or in the mountains, this can be one heckuva deal for you. This can be your very own Spanish Ranch House....well, at least that's what it reminds ME of- see the attached slide show and form your own conclusion. This gorgeous property  is therefore hungry for her next committed owner. Its horse country out here, just 18 miles east of Albuquerque in the mountains, and most of the lots in this well planned, naturally beautiful and spacious subdivision are 2.5 acres. The house is located about 1-1/4 miles to the south of South Mountain, last mountain in the San Pedro chain, in the Edgewood area, at about 7,000' elevation. South Mountain's beauty literally overwhelms you directly from your back sliding glass doors, see the slide slow. The house is mostly brick floor, of elegant interior design, easy to clean, and helps you stay cool without a lot of extra expense in the summer. Big kitchen/living room eat in bar with lots of space and seating. Large, pleasant  front and huge back property where you can do anything from pitch horse shoes to fence it in for horses or other animals. Zoned for horses, but with a beautiful lawn, complete with a programmed sprinkler system, in front, and two rain barrels for irrigation of plants or a garden, if you plant one, in back. Wonderful neighbors who are pleasant but not too nosy! Winter heating via either an excellent Ashley wood burning stove centrally located in the house, else wise via ETS (Electro Thermal System) ceramic brick units that store energy during the electrical off-peak time @ 3.97 cents per KWH, then dispense heat whenever you please. Allowing that I'm single, I've been paying only around $40 a month for water, which comes from a multiple well system in the area known as 'Entranosa.' Electric power- currently only the kitchen stove is on the 50 gallon propane tank in the back yard- has been running roughly $100-300 per month, the latter during the coldest part of winter, with the ETS units engaged more continuously. If you decided to engage the Ashley woodburner in the wintertime, your costs would be less. I haven't needed A/C much in my four summers here to date, since its 5-10 degrees cooler out here in the mountains than in ABQ, and there are lots of windows and doors that can be opened to effect breezes whenever desired. 'Perfect' house for solar panels, since it faces southerly with a dual-pitched Galvalum (metal) roof. Had I remained, I might have installed either solar panels on the roof or a wind mill in the rear, to largely or entirely eliminate the electric bill. If you love the beauty of New Mexico, but prefer to be in the country with quick access to the big city, this is the home for you. Large, beautiful master bedroom and bath, along with two smaller bedrooms, a family room and extra room that you can decide the role of. Washer, dryer and laundry sink in the second bathroom, and fully enclosed sliding door showers in both baths, with a tub to boot in the second. The house has a beautifully tiled, large breezeway and enclosed, fully insulated oversized three car garage, with plenty of extra storage in the rafters above, accessed by a drop down stairway, and pre-wired  for a heater below. The entire place is rigorously constructed, roomy and comfortable, ready for me to move out and for you to move in. Happy to sell with any or all of the current furnishings or without, your choice. All double-paned windows. Look over the pics, and if this is the place for you, call me anytime after 9 AM and up to 10 PM Mountain Time, and lets see if we have a connection. 'By the way,' unless you have extremely sensitive feet, it will take you only a few days to get used to going barefoot on the brick floor if you wish. A spacious office, with large windows looking out  the front of the place, is carpeted, as are the two back bedrooms. The breezeway floor, as I mentioned above, is beautiful ceramic tile, and the garage floor is doubly painted concrete. I personally prefer to run barefoot throughout the house. Obviously very pet  friendly. Finally, please understand that there have been many improvements made to this house and its property since I purchased it in early 2006.
