Your own green-space with this gorgeous two- story home on 12.32 acres of wooded privacy! I've added some Fall and Winter photos to show the four-season beauty of this acreage. I will be adding interior photos very soon.

Here are some of the many features:

*Large, well laid out kitchen with center island, deep, black onyx sink with high-rise faucet, an abundance of cupboards and even a pantry! All appliances included; gas stove, big side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave. Room for a kitchen table for eight! Center island wired for satellite tv.

*Laundry room/ mud room with included front loading washer and dryer, and plenty of space for hanging clothes, coats, shoes, mittens…

*Beautiful dining room with view to the front patio

*Front parlor/office/ that we call and use as "the music room". Plenty of room for a piano, couches, and big screen tv. It’s a lovely space!

*Main floor master suite with gas fireplace, big walk-in closet, private bath with Jacuzzi and walk-in glass shower

*Large family room with gas fireplace, lots of windows, and vaulted ceiling with a spacious overlooking balcony

*Three upstairs bedrooms with large closets and centrally located bath, all facing the balcony

*Huge, bone- dry basement, where the finishing process is in the beginning phase. An open canvas ready for your design dreams, with insulated wall framing in place,11' x 6' bathroom (toilet and utility sink already installed), large bedroom/office/workout room, and a massive game room and theater (54 x 15 = 1300' sq.), with space designed for a bar or kitchenette (15 x 6 = 90' sq), with drain plumbing in place. A large, enclosed storage room has already been built (15 x 14 = 195' sq), with wide, deep, extreme- duty shelves installed. The basement has large, east-facing windows that flood the space with light.

*You will love the open, soaring spaces of this home. The designer and builder did an excellent job with window arrangement so that in the winter, when it is so important, sunlight radiates throughout the house. The effect is a bright, cheerful, homey feel, while all the while the elegance of the architectural features adds a level of classical style rarely found in homes today.

*Outside, this is a woodland paradise, with multiple trails for walking or skiing, park-like views, and a beautiful fire ring area that adults and kids love- we often set up a tent there! A front brick patio and large wooden deck in the rear make for great places to enjoy your coffee, or entertain. Nestled in an old oak & maple forest, with two ponds supporting various waterfowl and other wildlife, it’s inevitable that we see our share of animals. We have seen and listened to coyotes howl, are frequently visited by large raptors including Great Horned Owls, Red Tailed Hawks, Broad Winged Hawks, and Bald Eagles. It is a bird watchers paradise, with resident Cardinals, Finches, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Pilleated Woodpeckers, the proverbial Chickadees, and even wild Turkeys. Migrations of Evening Grossbeaks stop by our feeders, and in summer we have wild Mallards, Blue Wing Teal, Wood Ducks, and the best treat of all, Sand Hill Cranes that nest on the back of our property, swoop low over the house with their seven-foot wing span, and serenade us daily. The neighbors are friendly, quiet, and courteous, and we all watch out for each other. Wandering dogs and cats are a rarity, though most own pets and livestock, including cows and horses. Several established flower beds add color all summer, and a large meadow has a large, vegetable garden. There is a spacious, well-built chicken coop with large fenced run and small flock… fresh eggs everyday! Additionally, a wooden storage building in the back yard has room for all your yard tools, lawn mowers, and gardening supplies- call it your gardener’s cottage! With Midwest Leafguard gutters around the whole house, you'll never have to clean the rain gutters.

*For recreation, several local lakes offer swimming, fishing, sailing, and water skiing. In 5 minutes you can be drifting down the gorgeous and historic Rum River (check out the two river photos) for fishing or excellent birding. In 2 or 3 hours, you're back on dry land in downtown St Francis- It's a great way to spend the afternoon! In 15 minutes, you can be pumping weights at the well-equipped Andover YMCA and Community Center, which also houses a water park and an ice skating rink.

*About twenty minutes driving time to Cambridge and Elk River, and fifteen to Anoka and Coon Rapids gives you quick access to all the large shopping venues. A multi-plex movie theater is only twelve minutes away. St Francis (3 miles) has two well stocked grocery stores, several restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, and a huge, ancient hardware store that stocks nearly any item you can imagine! An eighteen-hole golf course is literally 2.5 minutes away. It usually takes about 45 minutes to downtown Minneapolis, 50 to downtown St Paul, and 55 to 60 to the airport. The U of M and the new Twins stadium are 40 minutes. With existing train service from Anoka to downtown, and planned train service from even nearer Andover mean increasingly rapid and easy access to the central metro area.

*In short, this classic home is a refreshing escape from the madding crowds of the city, while enjoying quick access to all the attractions the twin cities offer. It is ideal for anyone desiring the peace and quiet of the country, and a closer relationship with Nature. Thanks for visiting!
