Here is a great opportunity for someone looking to have a "starter home", downsize, or perhaps you have been unfortunately be "forced" out of your current home due to these unique times. An older home, good but not perfect. Steel siding which was painted in 2007, never got around to painting the trim. A part of the porch was enclosed in the 1970s and has been used as a sewing room, bedroom, office room, etc. The living room and dining room are large rooms measuring about 14 by 14. Walls are paneled in these rooms and they are carpeted, the carpeting is useable, but will in time need replacement. To the right of these rooms are the two bedrooms. Both of these rooms around approximately 12 by 14 or so. The south bedroom was just repainted on March 7, 2009. The north bedroom was repainted in 2007, both in a beige range of colors. There is some truly nice stenciling around the uppe4 area of the walls , near the ceiling in the master bedroom. The stenciling is in a rust color. A large closet area divides the two bedroom with access to the closets from the master (north) bedroom side. the carpeting in the south bedroom was dry laid in October of 2008 and was new at that time. The carpeting in the north bedroom is usable, but older and would need replacing as time and your budget allowed. The eat in kitchen is large with lots of carpet space. Cabinets are along the west wall of the kitchen and appliances have generally been placed along the east wall. The bathroom was redone in 2002 with a new bathtub with shower surround, etc. The enclosed back porch serves as a utility room where the washer / dryer was located. The current whirlpool water heater was installed in 2007. There are also storage cabinets in this area. The bathroom and utility room have floors which slope slightly to the outer edge of the house. They are NOT sagging floors. This area was once the back porch and that is how the floors were on older back porchs. The home is heated with a natural gas furnace and the water heater is natural gas. The natural gas pipelines were updated and brought "up to code" with proper shut offs etc. in 2004. The home is cooled with a large window unit air conditioner. Sewer lines were "flushed" out on March 6, 2009 so all drains are working properly and drain fine. The house was shingled in 1997. There is an 8 by 12 storage building on the back of the lot. So there you go, a nice little cottage home for someone to make into their dream home. Is it perfect, nope. I have owned it for around ten years and used it for rental property, I'm tired of doing that and dealing with renters. If i needed a home, I would not be ashamed to live it in right now. I am anxious to seel the house and am will to "dicker" on the price and will help in reasonable ways for someone else to own it. I have just had enough rental experience that I no longer want to deal with it. Norborne is a nice little rural community of approximately 800 people, close to somewhat large towns with hospitals, etc. Norborne has a k -12 school district. Churches include Baptist, Cathollic, Lutheran, and Methodist. A quiet little community.
