It is located on a peninsula jutting out into LaGrange Creek which is a large tributary of the Rappahannock River.

The house has 4,144 sq. ft. of living area, plus a 352 sq. ft. screened porch, a 720 sq. ft. two-car garage and shop area, a large octagonal deck, and a second floor balcony. The town of Urbanna is 4 and one half miles from the house by road, and is a 15 to 20 minute ride by boat. Urbanna is a charming waterfront town with many restaurants, shops, two banks, a drug store, a full-service grocery store, etc. The larger towns of Gloucester and Tappahannock are 30 minutes away. Williamsburg, Newport News, and Richmond are only an hour away.
