For sale by me the owner, is a Large Victorian home with detached garage and a 2 bedroom apartment above the garage located in the quiet town of Shamokin, PA. It was built in the early 1920's and is a solid house!! Still has all the original woodwork and horsehair plaster walls. My family has lived here for the past 9 years and in that time we have done a ton of home improvements to this house. We started with the kitchen which we expanded out and raised the ceiling. We installed all new cabinets and added a 6' island and all stainless appliances(which come with the house). We then had all the old knob and tubing wiring removed and the entire house was rewired including the telephone and tv lines. Plus we added all new light fixtures throughout the entire house. Next we completely remodeled both bathrooms, then we ripped out all the carpet in the house and installed laminate flooring that looks just like hardwood floors. All the wooden downstairs windows were replaced with new insulated vinyl ones. The upstairs attic was remolded into a 4 bedroom/home theater room and is heated. A new roof was just installed 2 years ago and all the rooms were painted with neutral colors within the last 3 years.

 

Moving outside we have a nice fenced in yard with covered patio and 2 other brick patios. The 1 car garage has a nice workshop with cabinets shelves etc. I added a new electrical service so that the garage is seperate from the apt. I installed a new garage door and opener and enclosed all the walls with plywood I put an epoxy floor covering on the car side of the garage. The apt is a nice 2 bedroom with utility/mud room big kitchen and we redid the bathroom by adding a shower and new tub.You can rent the apt out for at a minimum of $225.00 a month there is currently a tennant living in the apt.

Our property taxes are approximately $787.00 per year, and there is no lean on the house.  The house is semi attached with wonderful neighbors.  It is centrally located from public and private schools, down town, and a half a block away from a community college (Luzerne Community College).  This house is minutes away from some of the best fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, and all terrain vehicle riding that Pennsylvania has to offer.  We are 25 minute away from the nearest mall, and 10 minute away from Knoebels Amusement Resort   http://www.knoebels.com/
