A little about the place.

Lake Hopatcong was once two lakes, but the lower one was dammed, and used as a water source for the Morris Canal. When the canal was dismantled, the height of the dam was increased till now the water level is listed as 924 feet above sea level. And if you’re into fishing, I’ve seen (but never caught) bass and cat fish well over a foot long. Maybe 18” or more. No fish tale.

I am a gardener, but I lost a lot of the good soil I had built up when they put the sewer lines in. So the veggie garden last year was turned in to a large compost pile. If you’re into gardening (Hey this is the Garden State) you’ll have a rich soiled garden next year. I was looking forward to it, but…
