Property to the west and the field to the north drain into the back yard of this property which creates a large pond of water during some light, most moderate and all heavier rains.  The flooding has created a large erosion area that cannot be controlled.  There is also an overland drainage easement on the property that allows a significant amount of water to pass between this property and the next door property.  During heavier rains the water can get to be 2-3 feet deep and has in the past gotten into our basement.  We have added window sill extenders and a swale was dug between our house and the adjacent house to try to alleviate flooding in the house.  Water has not made it into the house since this was done.  We have asked the city to take steps to eliminate or at least reduce the flooding in the back yard and side yard, however, the city has refused and the flooding continues when it rains.
