Looking for an artfully done, intimate, high mountain ski retreat unlike any other? Ground to peak exterior covered in natural hand split limestone (by me, phew! :-) and Eldorado drystack bluffstone. 18 to 24 inch Hybrid log home structure. 10" to 12" thick walls. Chinese slate and A grade maple over in-floor heat. Steamer in round shower. Granite and marble countertops thru-out in deep forest green. Hickory cabinets. Stainless steel appliances. Local hand hammered copper sinks in kitchen, bath, and bar. 9' h by 25' long primitive rock mural on round interior walls. Lots of floor to ceiling windows and doors which allows home to have deep, textured and richly colored walls accenting interior light and logwork. Beautiful and ever changing shadows. Bar area in greatroom with under-counter fridge, big screen tv, blu-ray player. Connected natural rock patio/hot tub area covered with large log gazebo roof. Visually impressive! Log covered outside patio area for sunny winter barbecues in deep snow country. Slate colored pavers and stone half walls around 75% of house. Bonus! Ever had icy cold, clear deepwell water with a sweet soft taste straight from the tap? This home was designed to speak of open space, peace, comfort and solidity in a wild, natural setting. This self-built log home is projected to be finished mid to late September 09. All major appliances and furnishings go with home. Stop by and take a look. Everyone else does.
SPECIAL NOTE! Starting in Oct.09 I will use the last 4 or 5 pics in the slideshow to show U the places I will be playing in in the area. The cabin is mostly DONE,yay! and I intend to play here until it's sold. Please come back occasionally and enjoy them with me.
Pic 21 shows U a part of the frontside of Discovery Ski Basin from the top of Cable Mountain on Sept. 30th.
Pic 22-24 is a 4x4/snowmobile trail you can hit from the cabin. Pic 23 n 24 were taken on the way back to the cabin. That was the 1st place I could slow down enough and not worry about getting stuck. A half mile up the road the snow was 2 feet deep already! Taken Sept. 30th.
Pic 25 is of a young bull moose out the window of the master bedroom morning of Oct. 16th.
