- General House age building Info. This house was built in two sections with the main section including the (4) bedrooms first (about 15 years old). The second section was added in 1999 and includes the Large Home Theater room, Office/bedroom, Garage, Pool and Pool house. The entire roof over the entire house was replaced in late 1999 in order to match the shingle colors. The house is built on a solid foundation of granite and rock.
- General Layout / construction: This house is built on one level with the exception of the garage. Thats right! 4400 sq ft on one level! No wasted space! The garage was built into the rock hill for storm / tornado protection. All three walls of the garage are filled with cement and rebar. In addition, the back wall is backed up by the rock. The single level of the home permits even temperature and sound control. You can be in the office/home theater room and not have the interruption of sound from other areas. This is not the case in a multi-story home.
- Attic/HVAC: The new section has a full stairway behind the bar for access and storage. The (3) air handling units are installed in the attic with the outside units located away from the patio / porches. This eliminates noise when you are outside. As it sits, the system has a DTS (digital theater sound), and Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder with the special Yamaha surround sound fields. The satellite system also picks-up the DTS & HD signal broadcast from DirectTV.
- Pool: The huge swimming pool holds 45,000 gallons of water and it has a NEW pool liner installed by Clear H2O (Auburn Splash). Ask around, thats huge for a home! I dont know why, but we never have mosquitoes here, at least since weve lived here. . You can swim any time of the day and not have to worry about them. This makes being in the woods at night a pleasant experience.
- Wildlife: The wildlife out here is different from the wildlife on College Street. You will see deer, wild turkey, opossums, armadillos, hummingbirds, eagles and cranes. At night, the tree frogs will come out and watch you swim in the pool, sometimes they like to join you. This is a wonderful home for a family who appreciates nature seeing stars at night and privacy from the city, but still 10 minutes to Starbucks!
