Ski Wyndam, Plattekill and Hunter are a comfortable and afordable car-ride away.  Cooperstown and Howe Caverns are a 40 minute un-congested, beautiful car-ride away, as well.  Our State  capital, Alabany is 1 hour, and Saratoga Raceway 1 hr and 20 minutes in one direction, and large concer venues are in Binghamton (1 1/4   hr), Syracuse and Albany.  Binghamton and Albany have many many malls and restaurants.

    8 miles form the house is Tyco helathcare/Covidien, a huge pharmaceutical company, employing many different professions.  There is also a physical therapy facilty, SECO, in Stamford village, and a nursing/rehab facility, Robinson Terrace.  Stamford Schools district is excellent and boasts small classes and good individual attention with 500 in the entire K-12 school.  There is a BOCES 11 miles from the house.
