Our home is made of bricks that were salvaged from a girls' school in another part of town. Our home has a metal roof, covered front porch, backyard patio, and town water & sewer. There's almost no crime in the neighborhood. The police station is 3 1/2 blocks away and the fire station, rescue squad and Sheriff's office is 3 blocks away.
Woodstock is a small town in the Shenandoah Valley with a nice view of the mountains and 4000 friendly people. Ok, maybe a coupla crankies. It's 90 minutes to the DC area and some commuters live here. There are many clubs and organizations and lots of amenities within walking distance (8 blocks) - 8 churches, 4 banks, 2 newspaper offices, doctors, lawyers, (sorry, no indian chiefs), dentists, chiropractors, insurers, town and county offices, thrift stores, various repair shops, stockbroker, courthouse, post office, library, movie theatre, museum, American Legion, Red Cross, military academy, radio station, B&B, pharmacy, hardware store, health food store, cafe, laundromat, cleaners, cars, antiques, restaurants, beauty salons, barbershops, and lots more. Within 2 miles - supermarkets, good public schools, county-wide credit union, fairgrounds, town park with swimming pool, hospital, DMV, bowling alley, fast food, etc. Farther out of town it's farms, a few homes, streams, forests, mountains, the Shenandoah River, and wildlife.
