Description: Situated in the beautiful Maine village of Somesville, at the centre of Mount Desert Island. A comfortable and welcoming house that most people warm to immediately. We are a family moving out of the area. If only we could take the house with us we would. Four bedrooms, one and three quarter bathrooms, fitted cherry cabinets in the living room, two bay garage, deck onto back yard and view easement over fields behind the house. Winter sunshine falls onto the back of the house, a not to be underestimated feature in getting through the Maine winter months.

Central location on MDI makes most of the principal towns a 10-15 minute drive away, including Acadia National Park. Trenton Airport, with direct flights to Boston, is twenty minutes away. A short walk brings you to the Somesville village center and one of the most beautiful views on MDI, overlooking the pond across to the head of Somes Sound. A little further on is the Somesville Landing which residents of the village have access to. Travelling in the opposite direction from the house takes you to the nearby Somes Pond for summer afternoon swims.

If you have children, you can keep an eye on them in the back yard from the kitchen, the living room and two bedrooms upstairs including the master bedroom. The house is well set back from the main road. School district is the sought after U98 area.

Details: On the first level is the entrance hallway, one bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom which is comprised of a shower, sink and toilet. The bedroom can be used as a guest room or a study. We have used it as a guest room, away from everyone upstairs and with the use of the downstairs bathroom. The second level is accessed by a wide cherry wood staircase which leads onto a landing with a window seat. There is a master bedroom with a walk in changing room plus two other bedrooms. The bathroom is located between the rooms with access from the master bedroom and the landing area. The master bedroom and one of the other rooms overlook the fields behind the house, the other room overlooks the front lawn.
