THIS HOUSE IS SOLD, CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DELETE THE LISTING
Located in Washington County, Beals, Maine, near Machias. The home sits nestled among the evergreens (fir and spruce) on a hill overlooking Cranberry Cove, Alley's Bay, the east end of Moosebec Reach, and some outer Islands. Delicious wild blackberrys grow around the perimeter of the property. My mom can show you how to turn those into the most delicious blackberry jelly, you have ever tasted! As well as inshore views, after a storm, the property boasts spectacular offshore views, of waves crashing sometimes 100 feet high against the outer Islands. Views of islands such as the world famous Roque Island, the Pulpit Rock, The Brothers and I just recently realized that a distant view of Libby Island and it's Lighthouse may be seen from the property as well. Even the "Point of Maine" below "Bucks Harbor" can be seen. The neighbors informed me that over the years, many people have parked at the driveways end, for picture taking and painting. Two or three years ago in a better housing market, the house and property would have sold for much more. I would imagine in the neighborhood of $200,000, however, Certain times and events bring about great buys. Don't let this one pass you by!
The 1st picture, Cranberry cove at the foot of the driveway is a great sheltered area to launch a small hand carry boat, canoe or kayak on the high water. On the low water, one may dig a feed of fresh clams. I'd even bet that one of the lobsterfishing neighbors, might bring you home a lobsterfeed from time to time, if you asked nicely. The public Marina for larger boats is less than 2 scenic miles away. Although the neighborhood is very safe and friendly, since we live in the area, we would be willing to keep an eye on the place so to speak, should a seasonal person wish to become an owner.
The home was purchased new and has been occupied barely 2 years by my 81 year old dad, and is in like new condition. There is literally no significant damage to the home. It is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath double wide home, on a new slab, that would make a fabulous vacation home or permanent home, depending on the buyers needs. It has 3 large walk in closets and a fireplace. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker, built in microwave oven and gas stove/oven included. The kitchen table and chair set is also included as well as 1 full size bed and an entertainment center. The huge master bath has a jacuzzi type tub as well as a double vanity.
The property ajoins the Beals Elementary school property, should you have school age children. Although the school cannot be seen, it is a short 1/2 mile or less high and dry walk over a dry natural granite path, up through the evergreens, and wild blueberry bushes and you are there.
We now have many pictures of the property we can Email. Be sure to CALL BY PHONE and request them if you are seriously interested. We wil not respond to vague emails, that appear to be spammers looking for new email addys. We are busy just like everyone else.
