A family house to love in the heart of Old Greenwich

Ours is a large and sunny home a short walk from the grocery store, post office, village shops, schools and the commuter train to New York. And while we are conveniently located in a family-oriented community where we greet our neighbors as they pass by on their way into town, our home backs up to a deep wooded area that buffers the homes from Innis Arden golf course. So we have the best of both worlds, community out the front door, nature and privacy out the back.

The home is a classic center entry colonial that was updated and enlarged several times over the years so that now it is spacious enough for our family of six and a live in Au Pair.

The first floor has a tiled foyer, living room with fireplace, dining room, sunken family room that leads to back mud room and back door, and large eat-in kitchen. The laundry room is off the kitchen. Its so convenient to have the washer/dryer on the first floor.

All these rooms have natural oak hardwood floors. There is also a sunny den with tiled floor and built in desks and credenza and two skylights.

On the second floor, the large master bedroom suite is huge, 30 x 13, yep, that's right 30 feet long! It's big enough that even with our king size bed, we have room for a sofa and TV cabinet so we can watch movies in our bedroom if we want. There is a separate private dressing area with built ins bureaus and bookshelves, and his/hers closets, a balcony with French doors and a large tiled bathroom with separate shower and spa tub.

On this floor there are two more bedrooms and a fourth bedroom we use as an office. These rooms have ceiling fans and hardwood floors. All are sunlight filled.

The third floor is a new addition, the attic was turned into a two room suite. The rooms can be used as two bedrooms or a bedroom, living suite. There is a bathroom accessible from both rooms. The bathroom has a full sized washer/dryer.
These rooms have large walk in closets, and there is attic storage accessible from both of these rooms as well.

Old Greenwich is a neighborhood of the town of Greenwich. Its the part of Greenwich that was settled first so it has an old time charm. Old Greenwich is also home to the town's recreation area, the 147 acre nature preserve and beach. From our house is is less than one mile away. We take our bikes there practically year round. We love our home and our community and are just selling this house because as we approach our empty nest years, we don't need so many rooms. We are ready for a new, younger family to come and make great memories here.
