Price was reduced $37,500 on February 22, 2014.
The July/Aug 2011 issue of Islands Magazine named Roatan the Number 1 island in the world to live and retire on and Scuba Diving Magazine ranked Anthony's Key Resort (AKR) the best dive resort in the region. AKR is located less than 2 blocks from my lovely Italian villa, which has spectacular views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. $187,500 is the best price on Roatan for a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath concrete and tile villa and taxes are less than $450 per year. I will also consider trading for a residential property in the U.S. that you own Free and Clear.
All rooms are large with 7 ceiling fans and there is a/c in 2 of the bedrooms. There is parking on the driveway for at least 4 vehicles. It is only a short walk from the villa to pristine beaches and several fine restaurants including Anthony's Key Resort and the Blue Bahia. The 2nd largest reef in the world affords world class scuba diving and snorkeling. Your family and friends will enjoy the many dolphin activities at Anthony's Key Resort (AKR) and for scuba diving enthusiasts, AKR has the newest fleet of dive boats on the island.
Golfer's will enjoy Perry and Pete Dye's championship 18-hole Black Pearl course, which opened 12-1-10. Of the 18 holes, 14 offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
If you have ever dreamed of owing your very own island dream home in paradise, this 3/2 concrete Italian villa with tiles throughout is for you. It has all of the amenities you would require including security features, so that you and your family and possessions will be totally secure.
Roatan can be your dream retirement location or a great place to start a business or purchase property as an investment or a second home.
The trade winds at my villa are constant, so air conditioning is rarely required. It is delightful to relax on the spacious veranda, look at the changing colors of the ocean and watch the scuba dive boats, luxury boats, fishing boats, sail boats and a variety of other vessels glide by, which is both interesting and relaxing. If you would like to go for a swim or simply soak up the sun, a short walk will take you to a pristine and uncrowded beach. Afterwards, you can enjoy a fabulous lunch or dinner in one of the islands best restaurants, the Blue Bahia, which is close to the beach and also the villa, so this luxury is all yours without having to drive to get there.
There are many interesting things to do on Roatan. For instance, sightseeing on the island is incredible from almost any vantage point. There are also livelier activities such as gliding above the tree lines on the canopy rides, testing your skills at landing trophy fish, the Shark Dive in Dixon Cove where there are dozens of reef sharks; you may also enjoy island hopping to some of the other Bay Islands. If you have children, they will be thrilled at the Iguana Sanctuary. It's like visiting a different world where iguanas are everywhere including the trees. They will never forget the experience. The dolphin adventure at Anthony's Key Resort in Sandy Bay is also a wonderful family destination. It doesn't matter how many times you may have frolicked with dolphins before, the dolphins at Anthony's Key Resort are the friendliest and most lovable you will encounter anywhere.
If you'd like to go for an adventure ride, you can rent a vehicle and travel to the remote east end of the island to Maya Bay, Port Royal or Camp Bay.
The villa comes partially furnished with new kitchen appliances (refrigerator and stove). There is a laundry room (new high-end washer) as well as a vaulted storage room inside of the laundry room, which can be locked to secure items that you do not wish to keep inside of the house such as ladders, paint and so forth. There is a terrace on the roof, which is fantastic for sunbathing, and a veranda where you and your guests will probably spend much of your time. Because the villa is concrete with tiles throughout, very little maintenance is required. All the rooms are large and there is parking on the driveway for at least 4 vehicles.
The villa is wired for cable tv and internet and is quite unique in that electric outlets exist side by side throughout the house and on the roof for both U.S. and European standards. The roof is also plumbed and wired for the easy addition of a second floor should the new owner be interested in adding a second floor in the future.
There are direct flights to Roatan from Houston on United (2 3/4 hours); from DFW on American; from Atlanta on Delta (less than 3 hours); from Miami (less than 2 hours) and, I believe, from Canada and Italy. Contact Richard via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-870-736-1909.
