The Burgundy Bay community is a great safe place for kids with lots of family activities.  While it is not on the water it is just a very short walk to the pool, clubhouse, marina, and golf course. A brand new big and beautiful pool was recently built.  The marina has freshly painted docks.  And the  golf course looks better every year! The subdivision has its own water and sewer system, so there is never a worry about your water. A new water plant is under construction. Middle Bass Island is part of the Bass Islands Chain and is approximately 9 miles off of Port Clinton, Ohio. The island is accessible by ferry, private boat, or plane. The Miller Ferry operates regular ferry service from the tip of Catawba . Middle Bass Island has 2 restaurants, a general store, church services, gift shop, and is the home of the new Middle Bass Island State Park. Middle Bass Island State Park went through a multi-million $$ renovation in 2007-2008 and is reopening bigger and better than ever in spring 2009. The Grand Opening is scheduled for June 20!!   Brand new docks, launching ramps, bath houses,and campgrounds are some of the new items at the state park.  The island has lots of summer activities, there seems to be a different island event every weekend. Or you can visit some of the nearby islands if you like. You can take your own boat to visit the other islands or there is ferry service to Put-in-Bay (on South Bass Island) and Kelleys Island. And of course the fishing is great on Lake Erie. Lake Erie is home to some of the best fishing anywhere!
