Petoskey sets on Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. It has been rated as the 15th best small town in America to live. Petoskeys popularity dates back to the 1870s when the wealthy of Chicago and Detroit escaped the big city heat in this Northern Michigan paradise. The downtown Gaslight District maintains its turn of the century character with many of the late 1890s bulidings restored to their original grandure.
